Online Access to Your School Forms on Our New School Database

This fall the Waldorf School at Moraine Farm will be using a new technology to give guardians and parents their own Guardian Portal. This means online access to all your child’s school reports, health information, and the ability to fill out forms and register for aftercare and sports online. It will also allow families to view and search the school Directory online. Please ensure you have received the email with instructions on how to login to your Guardian Portal.

Read on to see how this will help you.

Please refer to the school website calendar for the most accurate school calendar information.

Improvements on Campus

Improvements on Campus

Phase I of the quad project is underway. A new fence is up giving a sense of separation from the parking lot while providing a safe space for students and visitors. A new shade tent has been added to provide shade and encourage a gathering space for the community. Outdoor committee members have been working hard tiding up our flower beds, shrubs and plants.

Our parent & child program has settled into the main school building. The nursery playground is expanding to include the parent and child families and new grass is growing over our newly created tunnel hill.

Coleen’s summer camp program now has a new tent in the lower field for shade and coverage.

Upcoming projects include kitchen remodeling, painting and office moves.

A Reflection from the Waldorf National Conference 2019 in Philadelphia

A refection on the AWSNA conference by Marshunda Smith, Music and Strings Teacher

One of the many activities we (teachers) do during the summer months (besides going to the bathroom whenever we want) is keeping up to date with our personal growth as teachers. For some, it’s going to a Renewal course at an Anthroposical School, for some others it’s attending the AWSNA conference.

AWSNA (Association of Waldorf Schools in North America) conference happens every year around the last week of June, and it is hosted by different Waldorf Schools every summer. Last year’s conference was in Washington DC and the theme was “Social Justice: Exploring Place, Race, Class and Gender in Waldorf Education.” This year’s conference was held in Philadelphia and the theme was “Responsible Innovation: Charting the Course for the Next Century.”

The survey questions in the Parent Survey were designed to gather information needed to shed light on our practices, and to inform any changes needed. It’s important to hear from every parent in the school community. If you have not submitted your feedback, please do so today.
