On Monday, January 20, Waldorf School at Moraine Farm will be closed to honor the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. A powerful orator and influential civil rights activist, MLK led many non-violent protests in the 1950s and 1960s to fight for the rights of all people. His legacy is one of diversity, equity, and inclusion; important ideals to the Waldorf School at Moraine Farm Community. Martin Luther King Jr. also shared a message of compassion which is the CARE class theme for January. This month, students are engaging in activities that cultivate both self-compassion and compassion for others. All students are contributing to a card-making project for a child awaiting a heart transplant in Boston. Students are creating beautiful cards for the 6-year-old boy to offer love, support, and cheer. This is one way to honor the beautiful legacy left to us by MLK, and you are welcome to participate! Please send cards here:
