Nursery and kindergarten children are immersed in the wonder of the natural world for 2 to 3 hours per day in all seasons. The Moraine Farm campus in Beverly, MA offers countless nature exploration and learning experiences for the young child. Waldorf School at Moraine Farm early childhood teachers will lead a nature walk through Moraine Farm similar to what the children do every day. This nature walk will begin in the nursery play yard with a circle, then visitors will explore the field and forest.
Please come prepare with walking shoes or hiking books, water bottles, and proper protective clothing. Babies in baby-carriers are recommended rather than strollers as the trails can be tricky to maneuver.
Waldorf School at Moraine Farm Nursery and Kindergarten offers a nature rich play-based curriculum. Through daily rhythms of free play, outdoor time, circle time, story time, visual arts, handwork and practical activities, children exercise their creative muscles, develop their fine motor skills and create a strong foundation for their emerging literacy skills
Nursery classes are for children age 2 years, 9 months old to 4½ years old, with options for 3-, and 5-days per week. Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten are for children age 4½ to 6-½, 5-days per week. Classes begin at 8:10 am and end at 1 pm, with aftercare available until 2:40 pm or 5:30 pm.
