Thanks to the engineering skill, ingenuity, and generosity of Peter Morse, parent ‘05, shown here with his daughter Samantha Morse, Class of 2005, the green canopy in the Quad will be able to remain in place this winter. Normally, the green vinyl fabric comes off in late November because the aluminum structure cannot handle wintertime snow loads. Because the School needs sheltered outdoor space this winter, the Outdoor Life Committee asked Peter if he had a solution. The elegant umbrella-like design he came up with and fabricated, with finishing help from Betsy Vicksell and Anita Brewer-Siljeholm, is visible here behind Peter and Samantha. Please refrain from climbing or swinging on it. Thank you, Mr. Morse!
