Earlier this spring many of our students participated in an art contest held by NOAA Fisheries. The purpose of the competition was to bring awareness to endangered marine species in our area. The students created beautiful works of art (paintings, sculptures, etc.) and science teacher Ms. Yaeger submitted pictures to the organization.
We are so proud to announce that TWO of our students were selected to receive prizes out of over 250 submissions! We have one student, Kaleigh in grade 5, who won first prize for her age group and another, Poyraz in grade 2, who was chosen as an honorable mention for his age group! Congratulations Kaleigh and Poyraz!
See pictures of their works below and visit NOAA’s website to learn more about the art competition.
