We are thrilled to announce the appointment of a new Kindergarten Lead teacher: Ms. Alannah Ivy LeBlace for the 2021–2022 school year!

In the summer of 2015, Alannah discovered Waldorf Education on a permaculture farm in Carpinteria, California while completing her Permaculture Design Certification. She has been working ever since to become a trained Waldorf Early Childhood teacher. In 2016, she graduated from UC Riverside with a BA in Foreign Languages and Comparative Literature, with concentrations in French, German, and Arabic. Upon graduating from university, Alannah began working with young children both as a caregiver and in the classroom, working as an instructional assistant in a kindergarten for children with moderate to severe Autism and then as a Teaching Fellow in a neuro-typical kindergarten classroom the following year.

In 2018, Alannah accepted the position of First Grade Class Teacher at a Waldorf-inspired charter school in Prescott, Arizona. Teaching in a Waldorf school affirmed for her that not only was Waldorf Education her life’s work, but that Anthroposophy was her life’s path. Due to the strength and conviction of this realization, she made the decision to pursue her Waldorf Teacher Training full-time in Eugene, Oregon with the Waldorf Teacher Education, Eugene (WTEE) program held on the campus of the Eugene Waldorf School.

Alannah completed her Foundations studies with WTEE and is currently completing her specialization in Early Childhood with the Sound Circle Center for the Arts and Anthroposophy and will graduate this summer. Additionally, Alannah is currently working as the Lead Teacher of the afternoon program at the Red Earth Waldorf Kindergarten in Sedona, Arizona where she is also being mentored by the founder, Charity Cygal. Alannah feels blessed to be joining the Waldorf School at Moraine Farm!

Please join us in welcoming Alannah to our WSMF community!
