This year marks the 100th birthday of Waldorf Education and schools all over the world are engaging in many different ways to celebrate! What better way to honor the legacy of an education that gives so much to each of us than to give back to our communities? Waldorf School at Moraine Farm is excited to announce our 100th-anniversary celebration initiative: 100 Acts of Service! Over the course of this year, classes, teachers, and families are invited to perform acts of service to give back to the many communities that support our school.
The official start date for this initiative will coincide with the planting of 100 pollinator bulbs along the school’s walkways, later this month.

Here are some ideas to get you started on your service quests:
-Make holiday cards to be sent to retirement homes or soldiers
-Volunteer at a soup kitchen
-Shovel for a neighbor
-Hold a clothing drive

Branigan Reed (breed@waldorfmoraine.org) will collect information about all the service acts performed by the community, and maintain the display that will be showcased in the school’s front entryway. Keep your eyes open for this new addition in the next couple of weeks!

We look forward to giving back with you!
