On Thursday, October 17, grade 6 students took to the campus to help clear debris from the carriage road and school driveway after the wild and windy storm that had many folks waking up to lost power and downed trees. It was a fantastic opportunity to bring CARE class beyond the classroom and incorporate practical community service work together with the students. At the end of class we came together to reflect on the experience, and students had some great things to say:

“We are making the school beautiful for the people and the animals who are here.”

“This was a great idea because if we keep our school clean and beautiful, more people will want to come here.”

“I like all the sap on my hands. It means I worked hard.”

“Thanks for showing us how to care in all different ways.”
