The Annual Fund

Make an Impact

Tuition alone does not cover the cost of a WSMF education. Each year, the Annual Fund provides approximately 12% of our operating budget. Those unrestricted funds give the school the flexibility it needs to address its most pressing issues and respond to exciting new opportunities. Gifts to the Annual Fund provide support for accessible tuition and faculty and staff salaries. They also provide professional development opportunities, academic programs, student activities, arts, athletics, and help maintain our beautiful campus. An Annual Fund gift impacts the life of every WSMF student daily.

Why Give?

Your gift is more than just money. Your gift—at any level—signifies your belief in the transformative power of a Waldorf education. Each year alumni, parents, grandparents, faculty, staff, and friends of the school contribute to the Annual Fund to ensure we can continue to provide an inspiring and engaging education to current students and classes yet to come. The generosity of these gifts reflects the enduring generosity of spirit and commitment of our community.

What Does Your Gift Do?

Financial Aid

We pride ourselves on being able to welcome students of all walks to our school regardless of their financial situation. 54% of WSMF students receive financial aid in the form of Accessible Tuition adjustments. Annually more than $400,000 is awarded in tuition adjustment with an average grant of $8,302. Our ability to continue providing an accessible education and to create a thriving, diverse community is directly supported by the Annual Fund.

Music

Music abounds at WSMF! It engages our senses, is a way of expressing ourselves, and deepens our understanding of history, math, and more. Students are surrounded with music from the earliest ages to graduation- and we hope through life! The Annual Fund helps us to rent space for concerts, hire accompanists for our 8th graders’ solos, get a professional to tune the piano, buy the rhythm sticks our youngest students use when learning musical fundamentals, and so much more.

Arts

A Waldorf art curriculum encourages students to link deeper meaning to lesson content, builds focus, and encourages creativity. A robust set of artistic endeavors, including knitting, embroidery, figure drawing, watercolor painting, woodwork, and more improves fine motor skills and fuels young imaginations. As we endeavor to provide more creative outlets and opportunities for students to uncover talents and passion, we rely on the Annual Fund to bring in knowledgeable faculty and purchase supplies.

Athletics

Movement is a key part of Waldorf education, developing students’ motor skills and building teamwork and communication abilities. In addition to a rich and exciting Games and Movement curriculum, the school offers Soccer and Basketball teams for older students, and competes against other Waldorf schools annually in the Olympic Pentathlon. The Annual Fund helps subsidize travel, coaching, and material costs that are critical to these fan-favorite programs!

Student Life

Offering an engaging and inspiring educational experience is the greatest calling of our school. With your support we are able to enrich students’ lives with the festivals, field trips, and extra curriculars that are so loved. The Annual Fund also supports our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion work, ensuring our campus remains a welcoming place for all. Altogether, our students uncover passions, explore their interests, and create lives ripe with meaning because of your generosity.
