This entry level course will introduce basic principles of beekeeping and biodynamic agricultural practices. At the end of the class you will know everything you need to know to establish a new honeybee colony. You will also get a basic orientation in caring for the land in a way that supports the local pollinator population. Course fee is $40.
Four Wednesdays in March:
MARCH 8TH: WHAT IS BEEKEEPING? WHAT IS A BEEKEEPER? WHAT ARE BEES?
MARCH 15TH: WHAT DO BEES DO? WHAT IS GOING ON WITH BEES AND DISEASES?
MARCH 22ND: HOW TO BUILD A BEEHIVE WITH THE BEES.
MARCH 29TH: WORKING WITH THE BEES AND THE LAND THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.
HIVE OPENING IN APRIL, DATE AND TIME TBD.
All classed are held 7:00 – 9:00 pm in the third-grade classroom.
